Sarah & Chad's breathtaking day at Il Mercato 1.20.18

We’re fawning over the gorgeous pictures from Sarah and Chad’s wedding!  Catherine Guidry, as always takes the prettiest pictures and we’re happy to share them with you!

A big thanks to Scriptura for their DAZZLING invitations! So New Orleans and we are LOVING it!

In Sarah’s stunning bouquet we used her favorite flowers, consisting of blush Clooney ranunculus’, white stock, ivory spray roses, and blush David Austin garden roses.  Sarah asked us to include a sprig of myrtle in her bouquet to follow the tradition of British Royalty.  Myrtle: It’s royal tradition (and many others’ tradition) to carry a sprig of myrtle in the wedding bouquet. Did you know that every royal bride since Queen Victoria has carried myrtle?  Myrtle’s special meaning is the emblem of love and marriage. What’s more fitting than that?

Bridesmaids bouquets with Amnesia roses, (yes please!), ranunculus, faith roses, seeded eucalyptus, ivory majolica spray roses and Italian ruscus, are some of the elements we used in their bouquets.

Beautifully designed arrangements in gold mercury compotes compliment our grand gold candelabras and accents of gold mercury votives!

Il Mercato never disappoints with its charm and beauty. Makes designing events there a dream!

A big hoorah to Mis En Place Events and Swiss Confectionery for making their day even more special and partnering with us!

Amsterdam meets New Orleans: Lulu and Jochem's Extraordinary Wedding at Felicity Church

New Orleans and Amsterdam are internationally renowned as vibrant cities with unforgettable character, and the splendor that radiates from these one-of-a-kind places is something worth holding on to.

The welcoming and jubilant spirit of New Orleans is what our bride, Lulu, enjoyed so much while she lived here, and it’s what brought her back to New Orleans to celebrate the joy she found in Jochem; in Amsterdam.

Lulu and Jochem were married at Felicity Church in New Orleans last September. We challenged ourselves to celebrate their unique spirit with remarkable flowers in violet (Lulu’s favorite color); incorporating blooms that are so unique, yet so at home amongst the magnolia leaves.

Otherworldly flowers and greens like Queen Protea, Skeleton Leaf, Gomphrena, Artichokes, Fiddle Leaf Fern Frond, Ferns, Allium, Hellebores and Tillandsia Xerographica (air plant) stand out against deep green foliage. Lulu and Jochem’s destination wedding was as unforgettable as the place they call home. How do you stand out from the crowd? We want you to feel comfortable bringing any and all kinds of challenges to us as floral designers because your wedding flowers should be as special as you are!

When it comes to celebrating the rich bond between you and your partner, how will you express yourself?

Black Tie New Orleans Wedding featured in Southern Weddings

Black Tie New Orleans Wedding featured in Southern Weddings

Kim Starr Wise Floral Events was recently featured in Southern Weddings for Amy and Mike’s Black Tie New Orleans Wedding that took place in early summer of 2016.

This elegant affair took place at Il Mercato – a recently renovated Spanish style venue with one of the most beautiful courtyards in the city. We worked alongside Sapphire Events and many other local vendors to transform the space for Amy, Mike and their 200 out-of-town guests.

The floral design for this wedding incorporated a light, neutral color palette consisting of sahara spray roses, ilse spray roses, vendela roses and wild smilax and leafing muscadine vines that perfectly complemented the simple, yet romantic setting of this courtyard.

Floral Design for 40th Birthday Dinner Party

Floral Design for 40th Birthday Dinner Party

Kim Starr Wise Floral Events provided floral arrangements for a sophisticated 40th birthday party at Restaurant August.

A 40′ garland of blush and bashful roses, hydrangea, orchids, and clematis covered the table, and centerpieces of roses and hydrangea complemented the pink satin napkins. The mantles were decorated with gold mercury glass, gold candlesticks, gold candelabras, and floral garlands.

Many thanks to Sapphire Events, Luminous Events for the candles, Melissa’s Fine Pastries for the cake, Wildflower Linens for the linens, and Arte de Vie for the photography.

Wedding Vendor Party at Ursuline Convent

Wedding Vendor Party at Ursuline Convent

The Ursuline Convent  in New Orleans invited us to design a floral wall to accent the grounds for a wedding vendor party highlighting their new offering of the convent grounds as an event venue.

The Ursuline Convent is a great old property with a long history, and a venue to consider if you want a private wedding in an outdoor French Quarter location.

Perrier Party Rentals provide the awesome silver sofa and we designed the floral backdrop with orchids, carnations and honeycomb texture. The centerpiece is metal flowers, orchids and silver wheatgrass. What? You didn’t know silver wheat grass was a thing? It is.

Floral Design for NFL Red Carpet at Armstrong Park

Floral Design for NFL Red Carpet at Armstrong Park

The NFL recently invited the KSW Floral Events team to design red carpet greenery and table centerpieces for party and lounge areas at the Honors Awards ceremony during Superbowl XLVII in New Orleans. The event was held at Armstrong Park, just outside of the French Quarter and near the Superbowl.

We designed, constructed and setup twelve 7′ matte black boxes with boxwood branches stapled to their surface to provide a uniform vegetation transition for the stop and walk session on the red carpet. Additionally, we designed over 40 table centerpieces, floral accents, bar displays and VIP section floral arrangements, candles and vases.
