A meet-cute turned into some fun adventures for newlyweds Jared and JP. Since the start of their relationship, the two bonded over their love of traveling together, leading them to destinations such as Ireland and El Salvador, as well as starting a life together in Hawaii.

They decided on a New Orleans wedding, integrating their Hawaiian roots and escapades they experienced together through their details.

“Given the venue, we wanted to keep the vision clean and sleek. We knew we wanted to play on brown wood floors and off-white walls and accentuate those colors. We wanted to keep the style masculine, so we opted for plants instead of flowers,” mentioned the couple.

Not only did lush greenery occupy the space, but the two also sported green suits; finding the perfect shade from Luca Falcone. In addition to finding their ideal attire, they landed another impressionable vendor, one who created a delectable menu. “We knew we had to splurge on food, drinks, and plants. We chose a menu based on our travels: Spanish Tapas, Irish Salmon, Thai Hen; Salvadorian pupusas to name a few. Our caterer — Elysian Events — killed it!”

While many of the details are noteworthy, one, in particular, that was unique is their guestbook. “We did not include any heirlooms or traditions per se, but since we recently moved to Hawaii, we decided to have the guests sign a handmade wooden oar instead of a guest book. The koa wood paddles are traditions here and made for a memorable keepsake we can display.”

Jared and JP had a phenomenal day, perhaps it was because the advice they shared with us is one they went by mentioning, “Once the day comes, you’ll realize that being surrounded by friends and family who love you is more important than any small detail that may have been wrong or overlooked. That won’t matter when you look back on your special day.”
