Born and raised in Upstate New York in an area that annually celebrates lilac trees, Kim Starr Wise developed an appreciation for nature at a young age. Kim is a third generation floral designer her mother and great aunts, and her father who is a landscape designer; it’s only natural that she follow in their footsteps.
When Kim was 18 years old she moved to New York City to pursue her interest in fashion, floral and event design. For over ten years Kim worked for many of the top floral event companies in Brooklyn and Manhattan, giving her the ability to learn how to design, produce and execute high-end luxury events.
With over two decades of experience, KSW brought her talent to New Orleans and has grown into a multi-event production house but the message has always stayed the same. Whether it is a lavish wedding or a laid-back summer dinner party, the focus is to create memorable and breathtaking environments filled with exceptional beauty and detail.
Do you travel for events? Yes, we love to travel!
Do you do the entire set up for the event? Yes, we are a full-service event company. We see to every detail at our events from start to finish.
Do you have a minimum for weddings? We have a minimum of $3,000, before tax and delivery, for a full-service wedding. A full-service wedding consists of a consultation, unique floral design plan, personal flowers, ceremony, reception, delivery, setup & removal. Specialty items for full-service weddings may include candles, linens, decor & other rentals such as chuppahs, arches, backdrops, plants & lighting.
Do you design just bouquets and personals? Yes, we will work with all budgets. If our client wants something simple, like a single bouquet and boutonniere, we can do that. Delivery is an additional fee. A bridal bouquet costs between $200-$350 depending on what the client wants. It’s always best to email with questions, photos, ideas and start from there.
Do you work with out of town celebrants? All the time! We’ve designed and executed many seamless events with very little face to face interaction. We can Skype and/or have multiple phone consultations to make sure we’re all on the same page. Planning is key and we can make samples (for an additional fee) and will send you photos of the flower arrangements. We have a great reputation with brides and grooms from all over the country!
Do you offer lighting and candles? We have a large and eclectic collection of lanterns, candelabras, chandeliers as well as a large inventory of candles of all types and sizes.
Do you offer consultations? Yes, we will schedule a time to meet with you in person to discuss the floor plan, design style, venue(s), color palette, candle rental options, flower choices, linens, and the budget. If you’re unable to meet in person we’re happy to schedule a consultation over the phone or via Skype.

Flowers add beauty, color and style to any occasion. Even the most beautiful venue looks grander with lush, artistic floral designs. Whether it’s our design or yours, they always include the freshest flowers in handpicked vessels. In our studio you will find pots and urns filled with blooms, shelves upon shelves of art books, and the “blue prints” to our next big event. There is a revolving door of bespoke items coming in and out of our studio and we wouldn’t have it any other way. We cultivate inspiration!
What is a styled event? A highly decorative event, such as a themed parties or a luxury wedding that requires the expertise of a professional event stylist to ensure the aesthetic cohesively blends together to create an overall look and feel for the event. At KSW, we know the importance of a well designed event; and we use flowers, linens, lighting and other elements as part of the whole environment. The most stunning centerpiece is a missed opportunity if placed on linen that does not compliment your look or the room. We take into consideration venue layout, flow, colors and lighting when designing our events. We make sure that each component contributes to the whole look, from the vase to the votive candle. Clients often aren’t prepared for the cost of event florals. Planning tools suggest 10% of the overall budget be allocated to flowers. Our clients prioritize floral and decor, and as a result, typically invest closer to 20% of their budget on the look and feel of the event.
At Kim Starr Wise Floral Events it is our goal to create something that is styled just for you and our services start at $3,000 minimum.
Delivery Setup & Removal Fees
This fee generally runs from 15-20% of the total amount of the event, before tax. It varies, due to the complexity of the event.
