Sarah & Chad’s breathtaking day at Il Mercato 1.20.18

Sarah & Chad's breathtaking day at Il Mercato 1.20.18

We’re fawning over the gorgeous pictures from Sarah and Chad’s wedding!  Catherine Guidry, as always takes the prettiest pictures and we’re happy to share them with you!

A big thanks to Scriptura for their DAZZLING invitations! So New Orleans and we are LOVING it!

In Sarah’s stunning bouquet we used her favorite flowers, consisting of blush Clooney ranunculus’, white stock, ivory spray roses, and blush David Austin garden roses.  Sarah asked us to include a sprig of myrtle in her bouquet to follow the tradition of British Royalty.  Myrtle: It’s royal tradition (and many others’ tradition) to carry a sprig of myrtle in the wedding bouquet. Did you know that every royal bride since Queen Victoria has carried myrtle?  Myrtle’s special meaning is the emblem of love and marriage. What’s more fitting than that?

Bridesmaids bouquets with Amnesia roses, (yes please!), ranunculus, faith roses, seeded eucalyptus, ivory majolica spray roses and Italian ruscus, are some of the elements we used in their bouquets.

Beautifully designed arrangements in gold mercury compotes compliment our grand gold candelabras and accents of gold mercury votives!

Il Mercato never disappoints with its charm and beauty. Makes designing events there a dream!

A big hoorah to Mis En Place Events and Swiss Confectionery for making their day even more special and partnering with us!

Amsterdam meets New Orleans: Lulu and Jochem's Extraordinary Wedding at Felicity Church

New Orleans and Amsterdam are internationally renowned as vibrant cities with unforgettable character, and the splendor that radiates from these one-of-a-kind places is something worth holding on to.

The welcoming and jubilant spirit of New Orleans is what our bride, Lulu, enjoyed so much while she lived here, and it’s what brought her back to New Orleans to celebrate the joy she found in Jochem; in Amsterdam.

Lulu and Jochem were married at Felicity Church in New Orleans last September. We challenged ourselves to celebrate their unique spirit with remarkable flowers in violet (Lulu’s favorite color); incorporating blooms that are so unique, yet so at home amongst the magnolia leaves.

Otherworldly flowers and greens like Queen Protea, Skeleton Leaf, Gomphrena, Artichokes, Fiddle Leaf Fern Frond, Ferns, Allium, Hellebores and Tillandsia Xerographica (air plant) stand out against deep green foliage. Lulu and Jochem’s destination wedding was as unforgettable as the place they call home. How do you stand out from the crowd? We want you to feel comfortable bringing any and all kinds of challenges to us as floral designers because your wedding flowers should be as special as you are!

When it comes to celebrating the rich bond between you and your partner, how will you express yourself?

Bold, Beautiful, and Berry Hued Floral Designs Featured in Style Me Pretty

The KSW Krewe’s latest Style Me Pretty feature showcases our floral designs for Fernanda and Farere’s winter wedding earlier this year.

Despite warm weather in New Orleans in January, Fernanda chose a berry-hued color palette that was perfect for a winter wedding in a tropical environment. Not to mention, we absolutely love it when a bride chooses to go bold with her florals for her big day!

Bride & Groom Holding Bridal Bouquet

For her bridal bouquet, we created an organic and asymmetrical bouquet in shades of burgundy, dark red, plum, black, blue, dark pink and peach using garden roses, hanging amaranthus, ranunculus, lisianthus, carnations, spray roses, eucalyptus, scabiosa, amaryllis and other seasonal blooms wrapped with ivory and champagne ribbon.

Groom's Boutonniere and Wedding Corsages

Farere’s boutonniere perfectly complemented Fernanda’s bouquet with a plum ranunculus accented with greenery and wrapped in black satin ribbon.

The mothers each wore our signature corsage cufflet with a classic design of ivory roses and green accents.

Escort Card Table Floral Arrangement

The reception took place at the main ballroom at The Westin, Canal Place.

At the entrance, the escort card table featured a towering, mostly magnolia foliage, fern, flat eucalyptus filled floral arrangement with a pop of red roses, amaranthus and amaryllis in a tall gold leafed container.

Wedding Flower Centerpieces

The head table featured lush and organic styled floral arrangements in gold vases that were slightly varied using the same color palette and style as the bridal bouquet except with a heavier presence of foliage.

Gold mercury glass votives were used to perfectly match the bold, yet romantic ambiance.

Wedding Cake with Ombre Floral Design

A stunning ombre cascade of ranunculus and roses adorned the tiered wedding cake.

Inside Weddings Winter Issue Features KSW Floral Events

A story in the Winter 2015 issue of Inside Weddings Magazine covers a wedding that features flowers from Kim Starr Wise Floral Events.

The New Orleans wedding of Trina DasGupta and Quinton Pillay blended both Western and Indian customs to beautiful effect. KSW was involved in the production of all floral arrangements, and the results were stunning.

The ceremony was held at City Park’s Arbor Room and the reception followed at the Grand Ballroom at the Hyatt. The color palette – hot pink, red, orange, teal, gold – was vibrant and unique, and the traditional Indian elements provided an exciting challenge. KSW helped execute the designs for floating table arrangements, LED trees, a kabuki drop, garlands for traditional statues, and more. Vivid roses, orchids, peonies, snapdragons, alstroemeria, and carnations were used in the arrangements.

Many thanks to the following for all their creative efforts and input: David Beahm Designs, Christine Paul Events, Solomon Group, Cloth Connection, Kappa Designs, and the KSW team.

KSW Florals Featured in Weddings Unveiled

Weddings Unveiled recently posted an editorial piece on a styled inspiration wedding in New Orleans – designed by Sapphire Events – that featured our flower arrangements. The theme was “Anchored in Love,” and nautical elements – from knots to oyster shells – were prominent throughout. Our wedding bouquet was made from pure white peonies and light blue scabiosa. The boutonniere was a passion flower, and the floral arrangements for the tables were made with white peonies, blue delphinium, lavender anemones, sweet peas, passionflower vines, passion flower fruit, and freesia.

Wedding With Polish Traditions Featured in Style Me Pretty

Kim Starr Wise Floral Events was once again featured in Style Me Pretty!

This fall New Orleans wedding took place at Race and Religious and featured elements of Polish traditions, including the bloom vases we used for the tables. To create the bouquet and floral table arrangements, we used roses, hydrangea, and dahlias. The tables featured delicate flowers placed in Polish Vodka bottles.

Kim Starr Wise Floral Events is so excited to have our work featured in Southern Weddings today!

Nolan and Steve’s wedding was held in the Botanical Gardens at City Park New Orleans.

KSW created the florals that included camellia foliage, olive branches, peonies, ranunculus, dahlias, and green amaranthus. We also designed a floral garland that was hung in a central tree during the ceremony and colorful floral arrangements for the tables.

Many thanks to planning partners Tying the Knot Weddings, Bittersweet Confections, and photographer Ashleigh Jayne.

White & Blue Floral Design Featured in Aisle Perfect

Aisle Perfect recently featured the New Orleans wedding of Megan Misanelli and Byron Brackin, with floral arrangements done by Kim Starr Wise Floral Events. The wedding was held in the lush courtyard at Court of Two Sisters.

We used white tulips, mini callas, and vendela roses for the bouquet, while the floral arrangements on the tables and on the cake used a stunning range of blues with blue hydrangea, thistle, belladonna delphinium, green trick dianthus, seeded eucalyptus, ivy, and succulents. Our candles and table lanterns were included to provide a subtle lighting accent to the table arrangements.

Many thanks to Clandestine NOLA for the event planning and catering, Bittersweet Confections for the cake, and Arte De Vie  for photography.
