Sarah & Chad's breathtaking day at Il Mercato 1.20.18

We’re fawning over the gorgeous pictures from Sarah and Chad’s wedding!  Catherine Guidry, as always takes the prettiest pictures and we’re happy to share them with you!

A big thanks to Scriptura for their DAZZLING invitations! So New Orleans and we are LOVING it!

In Sarah’s stunning bouquet we used her favorite flowers, consisting of blush Clooney ranunculus’, white stock, ivory spray roses, and blush David Austin garden roses.  Sarah asked us to include a sprig of myrtle in her bouquet to follow the tradition of British Royalty.  Myrtle: It’s royal tradition (and many others’ tradition) to carry a sprig of myrtle in the wedding bouquet. Did you know that every royal bride since Queen Victoria has carried myrtle?  Myrtle’s special meaning is the emblem of love and marriage. What’s more fitting than that?

Bridesmaids bouquets with Amnesia roses, (yes please!), ranunculus, faith roses, seeded eucalyptus, ivory majolica spray roses and Italian ruscus, are some of the elements we used in their bouquets.

Beautifully designed arrangements in gold mercury compotes compliment our grand gold candelabras and accents of gold mercury votives!

Il Mercato never disappoints with its charm and beauty. Makes designing events there a dream!

A big hoorah to Mis En Place Events and Swiss Confectionery for making their day even more special and partnering with us!

Amsterdam meets New Orleans: Lulu and Jochem's Extraordinary Wedding at Felicity Church

New Orleans and Amsterdam are internationally renowned as vibrant cities with unforgettable character, and the splendor that radiates from these one-of-a-kind places is something worth holding on to.

The welcoming and jubilant spirit of New Orleans is what our bride, Lulu, enjoyed so much while she lived here, and it’s what brought her back to New Orleans to celebrate the joy she found in Jochem; in Amsterdam.

Lulu and Jochem were married at Felicity Church in New Orleans last September. We challenged ourselves to celebrate their unique spirit with remarkable flowers in violet (Lulu’s favorite color); incorporating blooms that are so unique, yet so at home amongst the magnolia leaves.

Otherworldly flowers and greens like Queen Protea, Skeleton Leaf, Gomphrena, Artichokes, Fiddle Leaf Fern Frond, Ferns, Allium, Hellebores and Tillandsia Xerographica (air plant) stand out against deep green foliage. Lulu and Jochem’s destination wedding was as unforgettable as the place they call home. How do you stand out from the crowd? We want you to feel comfortable bringing any and all kinds of challenges to us as floral designers because your wedding flowers should be as special as you are!

When it comes to celebrating the rich bond between you and your partner, how will you express yourself?

Rebecca & Nicky’s Floral Wonderland Wedding at the Orpheum

Rebecca & Nicky's Floral Wonderland Wedding at the Orpheum

It’s been over a year in waiting, but we are so excited to finally share all the floral design details for this one!

Our brides Rebecca and Nicky had an incredible wedding in New Orleans last October surrounded by their family, friends and some of the most colorful and bold wedding florals and decor that we’ve seen.

The ceremony took place at the Crescent City Ballroom at the Roosevelt Hotel with their utterly fabulous reception immediately following at the Orpheum Theater.

The eclectic color palette featuring shades of blue, purple, hot pink, yellow and orange accented with gold perfectly complemented the extravagant and ornate details of the reception space.

Custom fabricated flower boxes and custom built main bar included a jaw-dropping display of 11 ft. tall floral filled columns and an 8 ft. wide back bar flower wall.

Not a single detail was overlooked and floral arrangements adorned the stage, bars, every table and lounge space imaginable.

When we say every inch of space at the Orpheum was used, we’re not kidding! Scroll to see just how epic this wedding was because words don’t quite do it justice.

Bold, Beautiful, and Berry Hued Floral Designs Featured in Style Me Pretty

Bold, Beautiful, and Berry Hued Floral Designs Featured in Style Me Pretty

The KSW Krewe’s latest Style Me Pretty feature showcases our floral designs for Fernanda and Farere’s winter wedding earlier this year.

Despite warm weather in New Orleans in January, Fernanda chose a berry-hued color palette that was perfect for a winter wedding in a tropical environment. Not to mention, we absolutely love it when a bride chooses to go bold with her florals for her big day!

Bride & Groom Holding Bridal Bouquet

For her bridal bouquet, we created an organic and asymmetrical bouquet in shades of burgundy, dark red, plum, black, blue, dark pink and peach using garden roses, hanging amaranthus, ranunculus, lisianthus, carnations, spray roses, eucalyptus, scabiosa, amaryllis and other seasonal blooms wrapped with ivory and champagne ribbon.

Groom's Boutonniere and Wedding Corsages

Farere’s boutonniere perfectly complemented Fernanda’s bouquet with a plum ranunculus accented with greenery and wrapped in black satin ribbon.

The mothers each wore our signature corsage cufflet with a classic design of ivory roses and green accents.

Escort Card Table Floral Arrangement

The reception took place at the main ballroom at The Westin, Canal Place.

At the entrance, the escort card table featured a towering, mostly magnolia foliage, fern, flat eucalyptus filled floral arrangement with a pop of red roses, amaranthus and amaryllis in a tall gold leafed container.

Wedding Flower Centerpieces

The head table featured lush and organic styled floral arrangements in gold vases that were slightly varied using the same color palette and style as the bridal bouquet except with a heavier presence of foliage.

Gold mercury glass votives were used to perfectly match the bold, yet romantic ambiance.

Wedding Cake with Ombre Floral Design

A stunning ombre cascade of ranunculus and roses adorned the tiered wedding cake.

A Grand Affair Under a Chuppah of Garden Roses and Hydrangeas

A Grand Affair Under a Chuppah of Garden Roses and Hydrangeas

Maggie & Jeff’s wedding during Halloween weekend last fall was an affair to remember, to say the least! In lieu of candy and costumes, our bride and groom hosted a grand and elegant wedding extravaganza amongst their closest family and friends.

The ceremony took place at the Touro Synagogue where Maggie & Jeff exchanged vows under a white draped chuppah adorned with a garland of garden roses, flat eucalyptus, spray roses, and hydrangeas.

The celebration continued with a seated dinner and reception in the Grand Ballroom at The Ritz-Carlton New Orleans.

For the bride and groom’s head table, we created a “floating” floral centerpiece consisting of roses, hydrangeas, dusty miller, tulips and foliage that spanned the length of the table. Floating candles and a mix of smaller flower arrangements were also placed along the dining table underneath the main focal piece.

Each table in the Grand Ballroom was topped with flowers, we designed a variety of centerpieces; floral runners, tall floral centerpieces, clusters of vases and everything in between!

On the escort card table, Maggie and Jeff displayed pictures of their parents and grandparents on their wedding day. Here, we designed a “family tree” with intertwined, cascading florals.

This wedding cake and their smiles! Could this couple (and picture) be any more perfect?!

Jared & Lake’s Tropical Wedding at Race + Religious

Jared & Lake's Tropical Wedding at Race + Religious

They say New Orleans is the northern most Caribbean city and the tropical vibes from Jared and Lake’s big day without a doubt prove this saying true!

Their ceremony and reception took place at Race + Religious, a historic venue that features multiple restored cottages complete with carefully curated antique decor plus a fountain-flanked pool, two brick courtyards, and lush palms lit by the flicker of gas lamps.

See how the Kim Star Wise Floral Events team used the eclectic setting at Race + Religious to create this romantic tropical paradise for our grooms.

Jared and Lake exchanged their vows under this custom designed altar decorated with tropical palm fans, flowering acacia, spray roses, poppies, viburnum, roses, magnolia foliage, wild smilax vines, blooming forsythia and orange dubium.

Next to the guestbook sits a stunning flower arrangement of forsythia, orange dubium, tulips, hydrangea, magnolia, gerbera daisies, Juliet garden roses, eremurus, montbretia, olive foliage, ivory roses, jasmine vines and curly willow.

Fresh floral centerpieces of camellia, hydrangea, olive branches, freesia, helleborus, flowering acacia, eremurus, orange dubium, spray roses, poppies, forsythia, gerbera daisies, jasmine vines and Juliet garden roses were placed at every reception table.

Even the four tiered cake was embellished with a simple bundle of flowering acacia and orange dubium blooms.

Looking as handsome as ever and blissfully in love on their wedding day, Jared and Lake wore classic black tuxedos adorned with anemone boutonnieres; one adorned with forsythia and the other adorned with fresh jasmine.

Our Floral Designs Featured in Martha Stewart Wedding MagazineMr. & Mrs. St. Angelo | March 2016

Our Floral Designs Featured in Martha Stewart Wedding Magazine

One of the biggest events we’ve ever been a part of has been featured in Martha Stewart Wedding Magazine! We are beyond excited to finally share all the stunning floral designs we created for Haylie & Bradley’s epic New Orleans Wedding.

From the beginning, the bride envisioned a beautiful and timeless garden party while the groom wanted a luxurious, over-the-top reception. And like all Kim Starr Wise Floral Events, big or small, we made this dream a reality that you absolutely must see to believe!

Their extravagant affair took place in the French Quarter starting with the ceremony at the iconic St. Louis Cathedral followed by the reception at the Old Ursuline Convent just a few blocks away.

Haylie, Bradley, and their 500 guests danced the night away under a custom fabricated ceiling consisting of 24,000 white tulips that were imported from Holland. The inverted garden of tulips took nearly nine hours to complete as each one was hung individually to the metal frame using toothpicks!

The main reception tent was completely transformed with an elegant mix of banquet and round dining tables topped with an assortment of flower arrangements including roses, lilacs, hydrangeas, and even more tulips.

While the inside of the tent was fully draped with linen and floral garlands consisting of white spray roses, plumose, salal, and white limonium.

Sweetpeas, roses, gardenias, stephanotis and other blooms wound around the six-foot-tall white-chocolate chiffon wedding cake.

Dressed in all white, Haylie and her bridesmaids exuded elegance. The bridal bouquet consisted of all lily of the valley. While the bridesmaids each wore a flower crown and carried fresh bouquets of white sweet peas.

Wedding at The Chicory Featured in Carats & Cake

Wedding at The Chicory Featured in Carats & Cake

Kim Starr Wise Floral Events was recently featured in Carats & Cake for Irene & Ricardo’s wedding at The Chicory in New Orleans. Irene & Ricardo flew all the way from Ecuador to get married in New Orleans!

Like many venues in New Orleans, The Chicory has a storied past and perfectly suited for our foreign couple. What started as a coffee warehouse in the 1850s is now an incredible event space with pressed tin ceilings, real gas lanterns, exposed brick and has the original beams.

We absolutely loved how the floral designs came out in this beautiful juxtaposition with hundreds of hanging Edison light bulbs in this cozy industrial, yet rustic space.

Wedding seated dinner at The Chicory

Suspended garden roses, regular roses, and spray roses, commingling with lightbulbs in custom designed wood structures that perfectly matched the interior of the venue.

Wedding flower centerpieces

Their seated dinner for about 150 people, consisted of rows of long banquet tables that were lined with flower centerpieces in different gold mercury bud vases and compotes, incorporating a blush, ivory, peach and burgundy color palette.  I used nerine lilies, burgundy spray roses, blush tulips, plumose, seeded eucalyptus, David Austin’s Kate Garden, ilse spray roses, pink astilbe and smilax vines.

Tiered wedding cake with floral bouquets

Clusters of David Austin Juliet garden roses, blush ranunculus, white anemones and ivory majolica spray roses dotted each tier of their wedding cake.

Floral wedding bouquet

For Irene, I created an asymmetric shaped bouquet, incorporating pepper berries, cafe au lait dinner plate dahlias, jasmine vine, astilbe, David Austin Juliet garden roses, ranunculus, seeded eucalyptus, plumose, and was elegantly finished with ivory silk ribbon.

Secret Garden Styled Shoot for Southern Bride Magazine

Secret Garden Styled Shoot for Southern Bride Magazine

2017 is off to an exciting start with news that Kim Starr Wise Floral Events will be featured in Southern Bride magazine’s January issue!

Last year, we were approached by New Orleans wedding planner Elyse Jennings to collaborate on a secret garden themed styled photo shoot at the Beauregard-Keyes House & Garden Museum, and we knew that we couldn’t pass up the opportunity to work with her and showcase our work!

This historic home is nestled in the French Quarter and surrounded by lush green gardens with a pristine courtyard that is a floral designer’s dream canvas.

Secret garden styled wedding shoot

At the center of the brick paved courtyard, the fountain is adorned with a cascading floral and foliage garland complete with blush and ivory spray roses, and crimson garden roses.

The iron archways topped with wild smilax vines and perfectly placed white, peach and blush roses create a picturesque background that completes the vision of this love affair between a bride and groom (by the way- they’re a real couple)!  They married in New Orleans this past February!

Even fresh flower bouquets made of ranunculus, David Austin Juliet garden roses, spray roses, hellebores, and agonis were tucked in the linen chair ties. Not a single detail was overlooked when creating the romantic setting for this shoot!

Atop of a golden antique barcart sits a three-tiered marbled pink wedding cake decorated with fresh garden roses.
