Real Weddings: Ambra & Wilburt’s Romantic New Orleans Wedding at the Marigny Opera House
There are some weddings that stay with us long after the installations are taken apart. Ambra and Wilburt’s celebration at the iconic Marigny Opera House was one of those magical days. From the intimate family portraits taken with greenery in the background, to the way the florals played against the venue’s historic charm, every detail was paid attention to.
We were honored to be part of this unforgettable New Orleans wedding and thrilled to finally share a closer look behind the scenes.
A Venue That Speaks for Itself
The Marigny Opera House is a dream location: a deconsecrated church turned performance space, filled with soaring ceilings, weathered plaster, and stained glass that casts the most ethereal light. We leaned into the venue’s raw beauty and helped bring romantic simplicity to Ambra and Wilburt’s wedding day.
Their palette blended florals in beautiful shades of white, with pops of burgundy, pink, and lavender, creating a rich, layered look that felt both timeless and a little unexpected. We focused on a design that could soften the venue’s edges while honoring its architectural soul.
The Ceremony: Lush but Intimate
For the ceremony, we designed a floral ground arch that embraced the couple in a ring of greenery at the altar, with their guests surrounding them in a circle of seating. Instead of towering arrangements, we kept things low and lush, with garden roses, hydrangeas, and foraged greenery that added a New Orleans touch.
The pillars of greenery and rich floral arrangements provided a stunning backdrop for both family portraits and candid snaps of Ambra and Wilburt’s beautiful ceremony. These structural arrangements were multifunctional and brought a luxuriousness to the space.
Ambra walked down the aisle carrying a bouquet full of garden roses, ranunculus, clematis, and textural elements like white orchids. It was romantic and slightly wild, just like the setting.
Reception Florals: Elegance in Every Detail
For the reception, guest tables featured low, garden-style centerpieces in brass compotes and featured further pops of light blue and red. We kept each table slightly different to create an organic, collected feel.
We added floral touches to the bar, signage, and even the cake display, ensuring a cohesive story from start to finish.
A Wedding That Felt Like New Orleans
Ambra and Wilburt truly embraced the spirit of this city, a little old world, a little edge, and a lot of heart. From the second line to the love that filled the air, the night was full of energy and joy.
We were so honored to bring Ambra and Wilburt’s floral dreams to life and to work alongside such a thoughtful, creative couple.
Final Thoughts
If you’re planning a wedding in New Orleans, especially at a venue as unique as the Marigny Opera House, we’d love to help you dream up florals that honor both the space and your unique story. Every wedding we design is custom, crafted with care, and rooted in the moment.
Thank you, Ambra and Wilburt, for trusting us with your day. It was truly unforgettable.
