KSW Floral Events at TheNotWedding New Orleans

KSW Floral Events at TheNotWedding New Orleans

TheNotWedding is an alternative bridal show where hand-selected vendors put on a faux wedding for guests and brides-to-be. For TheNotWedding’s first New Orleans event, held at The Chicory, Kim Starr Wise Floral Events was selected to provide floral arrangements for several tables as well as the bouquets and boutonnieres at the “wedding.”

The wedding flowers, bouquets, and boutonnieres included peonies, 6-7 varieties of garden roses, hydrangea, regular roses, anthurium, and wild smilax. A recap of this fantastic New Orleans wedding event can be found at Ruffled.

The following day, a “Pink and Red Farewell Brunch” was held in the lush garden of the Beauregard-Keyes House. This brunch provided inspiration for popular morning-after-the-wedding events. Kim Starr Wise created table arrangements for the event using peonies, climbing roses, and hydrangea. The Every Last Detail has photos from this gorgeous event.

Holiday Wedding Styled Shoot at Tomas Bistro

Lots of fun was had designing the bridal bouquet and backdrops for this Christmas wedding styled shoot at Tomas Bistro.

The modern and round pink bridal bouquet, included pink calla lilies, white ranunculus ivory spray roses, pink and ivory David Austin garden roses, pink tulips, pink dahlias, silver curly willow tips with a collar of silver seeded eucalyptus.  Check out the thin, streamlined stemless handle!

Also we’re obsessed with wallpaper backdrops!  It’s a really unique way to personalize your event with a color and texture of your choice. Wallpaper backdrops work great behind the cake table, head table or a furniture vignette.

Thanks to Sapphire Events for collaborative design & planning and Pure 7 Films for the video.

Fall Floral Inspirations + Champagne Palace Photoshoot

Fall Floral Inspirations + Champagne Palace Photoshoot

Can you believe that it is September already? Not just September, but four days into September!  Where has the time gone?!  Even though the heat is still here and it still feels like summer, for Kim Starr Wise Floral Events it is starting to look like a little bit like fall.

The blogosphere is making it feel like autumn too.  One of our daily blog reads, A Cup of Jo, recently featured dark red lips as a fall trend.

Today, another one of my daily reads, Coco+Kelley, featured the long anticipated photos from her blog’s five-year anniversary dinner party.  The photos of the party were, without a doubt, worth the wait.  Cassandra put together a gorgeous affair, curated perfectly.  What we would have given to be guests!

Here’s a look at a few of the snapshots particularly the flower arrangements created by Seattle based floral designer McKenzie Powell.

The pictures from Cassandra’s soiree reminded me of a photoshoot that we recently had at the Champagne Palace.  This is one of our favorite looks and it’s too bad it wasn’t a real dinner party!

Kim chose her color palate to be the vibrant and bright greens of summer, and the rich jeweled tones of autumn.  The texture and playfulness of the greens are contrasted by the lush and almost-ruffled purples.  The perfect flowers to complement the transition from summer to fall.

Seems like everyone is getting the memo to start thinking about fall floral designing. It’s fast approaching, and I can almost smell the pumpkin spice latte!
